The 16-year-old boy detained for a DDoS attack on Mastercard and Visa goes by the online handle “Jeroenz0r.” His online associates are now taking revenge on the Public Prosecution Service’s website.
The suspect “Jeroenz0r” is a 16-year-old from Zoetermeer who managed one of the IRC channels from which the DDoS attacks on Mastercard.com and Visa.com were coordinated, reports Tweakers.net.

His role was therefore more significant than merely participating by installing and configuring the LOIC client. A spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Service confirmed his prominent role to Webwereld: “He has admitted that he initiated the attack.”
The suspect will be brought before an investigating judge later this afternoon, who will decide whether to extend his pre-trial detention by two weeks.

Meanwhile, the loosely affiliated group operating under the name Operation Anonymous is targeting the website of the Public Prosecution Service. OM.nl has been difficult to reach for hours. A spokesperson for the Board of Procurators General confirms the disruption but cannot yet indicate a cause. “We are currently investigating.”
Last night, the Public Prosecution Service announced that it had arrested the boy and seized his computers. In recent days, several websites, including those of PayPal, Mastercard, and Visa, were knocked offline by a distributed denial-of-service attack, or DDoS. The group’s targets are companies that, whether or not under pressure from the U.S. government, had halted their services to the controversial whistleblower site WikiLeaks.
